Privacy policy

This page explains what personal data we collect when you contact us, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how you can have it deleted.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Yidu Trading Co., Ltd. ("we", "us"), an umbrella manufacturer based in China. We are the data controller for the personal data described on this page. For any privacy question or request, contact privacy@snappyumbrella.com.

2. What we collect

Data you give us

  • Enquiry data — the information you enter into an enquiry form: business email address, company name and website, country, quantity range, and, if you choose to provide it, an ASI or PPAI membership number.
  • E-commerce enquiry data — for seller enquiries, the selling platform and monthly volume band instead of trade association details.
  • Correspondence — the content of emails, attachments and artwork files you send us.

Data collected automatically

  • Analytics — pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and referral source. Analytics cookies are only set after you consent.
  • Consent records — the date, time and form version associated with a consent you gave, so we can demonstrate that consent was valid.

3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis

  • To answer your enquiry and prepare a quotation — on the basis of your request (performance of, or steps towards, a contract).
  • To keep a record of a quotation or order — on the basis of our legitimate interest in running our business and meeting accounting obligations.
  • To send you new designs and price updates — only if you separately ticked the optional marketing checkbox. The legal basis is consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
  • To understand how the website is used — analytics, on the basis of consent.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making, and we do not build advertising profiles.

4. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not become an order: 24 months from the last contact.
  • Quotations and order records: kept for the period required by applicable Chinese accounting and tax rules, then deleted.
  • Marketing consent: until you withdraw it.
  • Consent records: kept as long as needed to demonstrate the consent was given.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us operate the site and communicate with you — email hosting, website hosting, and analytics — and only to the extent they need it to perform that service. Where a provider processes data outside your country, we rely on standard contractual safeguards.

We manufacture golf, straight and folding umbrellas in our own factory. Our team manages production, inspection and order shipment.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR and comparable laws you have the right to:

  • request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct data that is inaccurate;
  • ask us to delete your data;
  • ask us to restrict or object to processing;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent for marketing at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.

To exercise any of these, email privacy@snappyumbrella.com. We respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK and are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

7. California residents

We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, to request correction, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. Requests can be made to privacy@snappyumbrella.com.

8. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the site, and analytics cookies only after you consent. If you decline analytics, we do not load analytics scripts. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings on the site.

9. Security

Enquiry data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in access-controlled systems. We keep the number of people who can read enquiry data as small as possible. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not store payment card data — orders are settled by bank transfer, not card.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing enquiries will be notified by email where we have an address for you.

This document describes our practices in plain language. It is not legal advice, and it does not replace the terms of any signed contract between us.
